In order to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and enhance the understanding of traditional Chinese culture among international students in China, in September, the International EducationCollegeheld a series of activities called Chinese Culture Month, carrying out medical humanities education of sincerity of great doctors, double virtues of medicine, traditional cultural education of listening to Chinese stories, learning Chinese culture, and introducing the local cultural charm of the hometown of Confucius and Mencius, the capital of canals, which providedlegal safety education to international students on learning Chinese law and improving the quality of studying abroad.
The event invited Dr. Zhang Hong, Chief Physician of the Medical Education Department of the People's Hospital of Rizhao City, to introduce the traditional Chinese medical ethics concept of great doctor sincerity to international students. With professional ethics and doctor-patient communication as the core, the event elaborated on the necessary medical ethics, knowledge accumulation, and skill development to grow into an excellent doctor; and invited Professor Du Aihua, Director of the Basic Teaching and Research Department of the Jining Municipal Party School, to hold a lecture on Traditional Culture and Its Spiritual Essence for international students, focusing on explaining the benevolence, loyalty and forgiveness, and integrity ideas in Confucian culture. At the themed class meeting to appreciate the local culture of Jining, Professor Zhu Lifang, Vice Dean of the International EducationCollege, emphasized the profound influence of Confucian culture, the historical origins of canal culture, and the local characteristics of lake culture, cultivating the emotions of international students who love the school and Jining. We invitedthree public security officers, including Su Jie, Captain of the External Management Brigade of the Shizhong District Branch of the Jining Public Security Bureau, Li Shilu, Officer of the Anti Drug Brigade, and Yao Ran, Deputy Director of the Yushan Police Station, to preach to international students the relevant legal provisions of the Exit and Entry Administration Law of the People's Republic of China, the Public Security Administration Punishment Law of the People's Republic of China, and drug control and rehabilitation, emphasizing the rights granted to international students by Chinese law. The legal obligations that international students must fulfill and the penalties for violating Chinese laws require all international students to comply with Chinese laws and successfully complete their studies.
Through activities, international students' understanding and perception of traditional Chinese culture have been deepened, withtheir behavioral norms further established, their legal awareness enhanced, and their emotions of pro China and friendship with China cultivated.
