In order to adapt to the new situation of studying in China in the post pandemic era, deepen the understanding of new education policies for studying in China, and further enhance the teaching and management capabilities of international students of our school, on the occasion of our school's "Seven Rank Fanghua" anniversary, the International Education College holds an online series of lectures on "Education Development for International Students in China".
On the morning of October 19th, Professor Zhang Xiumei, Chairman of the International Medical Education Branch of the China Association for International Exchange in Education, and Professor Luan Fengchi, Vice Chairman of the Foreign Student Education Management Branch of the China Higher Education Association, were invited to attend the online lecture. The lecture was hosted by Zhu Lifang, Vice Dean of the International Education College.
Professor Zhang Xiumei, with the theme of "Development and Countermeasures of Medical International Student Education in China in the Post Epidemic Era", introduced the current situation and response measures of medical international student education in China under the new norms of the epidemic, mainly including implementing relevant national regulations and constructing a quality assurance system for studying in China; implementing quality certification for studying abroad in China, constructing a clinical undergraduate education curriculum and textbook system for studying abroad in China, and promoting the convergence of education and management for medical students studying abroad in China. Further exploring the new development of medical education for international students in China in the post pandemic era, it is necessary for various medical schools to initiate a "quality-centered" development model, promote the healthy development of medical education for international students in China, and strengthen the medical education brand of "studying abroad in China".
Professor Luan Fengchi first introduced the opportunities for China to develop the education of overseas students under the "the Belt and Road" initiative, and then pointed out the problems and challenges faced by overseas students in China under the epidemic situation, including the decline in the number and quality of enrollment, limited online teaching resources and teaching ability, the inability to carry out practical teaching, and the difficulty in student management. The future development strategy and measures are to build a multi-channel and three-dimensional enrollment model, improve the online teaching system, strengthen teaching quality assurance, and explore new methods for managing Chinese international students under the epidemic situation. Finally, Professor Luan emphasized the need to adhere to the path of "seeking truth from facts, acting within one's capabilities, optimizing structure, standardizing management, and ensuring quality" for studying abroad in China, improving quality and efficiency, developing scientifically, and embarking on a sustainable international education development path that is in line with the actual situation of various schools in China.
This lecture has improved the job competence of teaching and management personnel for international students in our school, and will further promote the development of international education in our school. All staff of the School of International Education, course teachers for international students, heads of teaching management departments of relevant secondary colleges, deputy directors of teaching and research departments, and teaching management personnel from affiliated hospitals and teaching hospitals attended the lecture.
